Hi and welcome to CourseSpeak.com. This site is meant as a communication tool for students, starting with my college, UC Berkeley. The forums are split up in such a way that each course has its own subforum. If a course or a school is not listed here, then feel free to contact me and put in a request. I hope that you find this site as useful as I think it will be.

I suggest reading the first section of the FAQ for my suggestions on how to use this site to its full potential. The forums are run using phpBB, which has a surprising amount of functionality from social networking already built in (friends, foes, favorite threads) that will make your experience that much easier. The forum paradigm is a little different from something like MySpace or Facebook, but I felt like it would be the best method for open communication.

Lastly, this forum has forced anonymity. This was motivated by experience taking courses where the professors never released statistics about grade spreads, and the students studied hard largely out of fear that they were doing poorly. I felt like it was the student against the material/teacher, when that shouldn't be the case. When I started my coursework as a computer science student, I came upon the newsgroups, and realized that this amount of cooperation between students is the way college should be. I hope you agree.
